Happy Fall Y’all! I am so excited to share my fall porch decor with all of you. At the time I am writing this we have only lived in this house about two months so I have been a little behind on decorating for fall. I am typically so excited about fall that I roll out all things pumpkin on Labor Day. It is a tradition that I have had for several years but boy it just didn’t happen this year.
Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. -Albert Camus
In the spirit of better late than never, here are some shots of my outdoor fall decor. Normally I am team “all things neutral” but I felt like this porch needed some pops of color.
I really love the brightness that the purple brings. I feel like mums are the quintessential fall flower and you can’t go wrong with them. I also added some ornamental kale and cabbage. On the front door is my DIY wheat wreath.
The lanterns were a clearance find at Home Depot a few years ago. They have a beautiful bronze finish and are so versatile. Let us be honest my Hunter boots do not get a lot of use here in Oklahoma. After deciding on the purple mums I knew that these boots would find a temporary home nestled on the porch. I love using a mix of seasonal decor and decorative items that I keep on hand to rotate around the house.
I always strive to balance budget with style because who can really spend $150 bucks on mums and pumpkins that you will only use for 6-8 weeks? Not me! Some things are worth it but the budget won in this situation. Since I get lots of questions on sources and prices here is the breakdown of what I used.
- Mums and Kale: $17.95-Lowes
- Pumpkins: $22.96-Sprouts
- Sign: $6.80-Michaels
- Hay bale, 2 wheat bundles, and 2 baskets: $14.98- Hobby Lobby
- Blanket, Boots, and Lanterns: Already owned
I hope you all enjoyed my little slice of autumn. I hope this season brings lots of love and new memories for all.
